Home care and PSWs in Coniston
PSW support and home care in Coniston, east of the city.
Arranging care in Coniston
Coniston is close enough to the east end that it does not carry the scheduling constraints the Valley does. It is a small community, which in practice means our caregivers there tend to cover several clients nearby — so continuity of the same person is easier to arrange than it is in the city.
Where this is
A former smelter town east of Sudbury, part of the Town of Nickel Centre before the 2001 amalgamation. It sits roughly 11 km from downtown Sudbury in a straight line.
We do not quote drive times, and that is deliberate — between November and April in this part of Ontario a number on a page would be wrong often enough to be worth nothing. What we do instead is confirm a specific caregiver and a specific time before anything is booked.
What a PSW can do
Personal support work covers bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and transfers, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping and companionship. A PSW is not a nurse: wound care, injections and anything clinical need a registered nurse, and we will say so rather than stretching the scope. There is more on that distinction in our guide to the difference between a PSW and an RN.
Every caregiver is verified
Police check, PSW credentials confirmed, and references taken before anyone is matched with a family. That applies in Coniston exactly as it does everywhere else we work — it is not something that relaxes for the outlying communities.
