Home care and PSWs in The Donovan
Home care and verified PSWs in the Donovan, close to downtown.
Arranging care in the Donovan
The Donovan is right beside the core, so travel time is minimal and short visits are practical. A lot of the housing is older and densely packed with on-street parking only, which is worth a line in the booking note so the caregiver arrives on time rather than circling.
Where this is
One of the oldest working-class neighbourhoods in Sudbury, immediately north-west of downtown. It sits roughly 2 km from downtown Sudbury in a straight line.
We do not quote drive times, and that is deliberate — between November and April in this part of Ontario a number on a page would be wrong often enough to be worth nothing. What we do instead is confirm a specific caregiver and a specific time before anything is booked.
What a PSW can do
Personal support work covers bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and transfers, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping and companionship. A PSW is not a nurse: wound care, injections and anything clinical need a registered nurse, and we will say so rather than stretching the scope. There is more on that distinction in our guide to the difference between a PSW and an RN.
Every caregiver is verified
Police check, PSW credentials confirmed, and references taken before anyone is matched with a family. That applies in the Donovan exactly as it does everywhere else we work — it is not something that relaxes for the outlying communities.
