Home care and PSWs in Lively
Home care and verified PSWs in Lively and the Walden area.
Arranging care in Lively
Lively is a straightforward run out along the highway and one of the easier outlying communities for us to serve reliably, including in winter. Same-week bookings are usually fine here.
Where this is
Built as a company town for the mines and later part of the Town of Walden, one of the municipalities amalgamated into Greater Sudbury in 2001. It sits roughly 13 km from downtown Sudbury in a straight line.
We do not quote drive times, and that is deliberate — between November and April in this part of Ontario a number on a page would be wrong often enough to be worth nothing. What we do instead is confirm a specific caregiver and a specific time before anything is booked.
What a PSW can do
Personal support work covers bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and transfers, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping and companionship. A PSW is not a nurse: wound care, injections and anything clinical need a registered nurse, and we will say so rather than stretching the scope. There is more on that distinction in our guide to the difference between a PSW and an RN.
Every caregiver is verified
Police check, PSW credentials confirmed, and references taken before anyone is matched with a family. That applies in Lively exactly as it does everywhere else we work — it is not something that relaxes for the outlying communities.
