Home care and PSWs in New Sudbury

PSW and home care support across New Sudbury, from Lasalle through to the east end.

Arranging care in New Sudbury

New Sudbury is mostly post-war bungalows and single-storey homes, which is the easiest housing stock in the city to age in place in — no stairs to the bedroom, and usually a driveway. Most of the long-term daily-visit arrangements we set up are here.

Where this is

The largest residential district in the city, built out through the post-war decades north-east of the original town. It sits roughly 4 km from downtown Sudbury in a straight line.

We do not quote drive times, and that is deliberate — between November and April in this part of Ontario a number on a page would be wrong often enough to be worth nothing. What we do instead is confirm a specific caregiver and a specific time before anything is booked.

What a PSW can do

Personal support work covers bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility and transfers, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping and companionship. A PSW is not a nurse: wound care, injections and anything clinical need a registered nurse, and we will say so rather than stretching the scope. There is more on that distinction in our guide to the difference between a PSW and an RN.

Every caregiver is verified

Police check, PSW credentials confirmed, and references taken before anyone is matched with a family. That applies in New Sudbury exactly as it does everywhere else we work — it is not something that relaxes for the outlying communities.
